2021 Membership Drive

Wow, what a year…to say the least! We truly hope that this finds you all in good spirits and health!
With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting everyday life for all of us, I first want to thank you for your support and for joining us during this inaugural year of Main Street Lorain. When I was asked to become President of the first Main Street Lorain Board of Directors, I knew that getting this organization off the ground and becoming an impactful agent for downtown Lorain, its businesses and the greater Lorain community would be a challenge, but I certainly did not anticipate this!
I am sure that, like us, you have found that in this Covid-19 world the future has never felt so unpredictable. This has been a challenging time for us all, but hopefully you have noticed that despite the day-to-day uncertainty we have maintained our commitment to moving our downtown forward and that we are working as hard as circumstances allow to do those things that a vibrant Main Street program does. We are committed and have continued to promote, beautify and better our downtown in every way we possibly can. And when these days of uncertainty become more certain again, we have plans to do so much more! Until that time we will continue to stay strong and adapt, knowing that now, more than ever, our community needs us.
And we need you! You – our members – are the lifeblood of this organization. We exist because of and for you!
Earlier this year we made the decision that, due to the pandemic and the economic struggles that accompanied it, we would extend all our current memberships through the calendar year 2021. That remains true! We are happy to have you all on board and look forward to working more closely with everyone post-pandemic and creating a more vibrant and welcoming downtown Lorain!
That said, just like each of you, Main Street Lorain needs revenue to operate. So, we are asking you to consider the following: If you, your organization or your business has been fortunate enough to have already included Main Street Lorain membership renewal in your annual budget, please consider renewing your 2021 membership to Main Street Lorain! Your memberships are a key component in keeping Main Street Lorain thriving, so your consideration is greatly appreciated. Attached is our membership form. If you are able to renew for 2021, please make checks payable to The Lorain Historical Society (our fiscal agent) with “Main Street Membership” written in the memo line and mailed to the Lorain Historical Society, 329 W. Tenth St, Lorain, OH 44052. We look forward to a very busy and productive summer/fall/winter 2021!!
If you are unable to renew your annual membership at this time, our promise remains: you will continue to be a Main Street Lorain member through 2021 and we need your support. You can advocate for us by sharing our mission and story with friends and neighbors. “Like and follow” our social media. Share posts. A quick mention on your social media about Main Street Lorain would mean the world to us!
If you are not currently a member, we would love to have you! Our strength is in numbers and our downtown thrives because we all desire the same things for the place that we call home – collaborating and celebrating while making downtown Lorain vibrant and accessible to residents and visitors of all ages. So please, print out our membership application and join us on this journey of revitalization and community!
In times like this, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are. Thank you for being part of our Main Street family. Without you, none of this is possible.
