The Design Committee of Main Street Lorain is pleased to announce their plans for “THE BIG SWEEP,” a Third Saturday clean-up program for the Historic Downtown of Lorain.
We believe that in order to attract Lorainites and visitors to our Historic Downtown, there must be regular maintenance and upkeep, which will keep the downtown area attractive and inviting to all. There will be two “Big Sweeps.”
The Spring Big Sweep will be the Third Saturday of May (May 15, 2021 Lorain County Pride Day), and the Fall Big Sweep will be the Third Saturday in September (September 18, 2021). Both from 9am – 12 Noon.
We will assemble at the Public Parking Area adjacent W 7th St and Broadway on each of the designated Saturdays.
*Gloves, garbage bags, and misc. supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own tools, brooms, dust pans, clippers, and rakes from home to assist in the cleanup effort.
If the cleanup is canceled do to rain or inclement weather, it will be held on the following Saturday.
After each “Sweep” please join us in supporting a local downtown restaurant.
We are encouraging all members of Main Street Lorain, all Lorain City Council members, all downtown business owners, all downtown building owners and any and all interested Lorainites to join us as we make the Historic Downtown a better place to do business; to shop; to live; and to play!
For any questions about participating please email info@downtownlorain.com
