Main Street Lorain (MSL) is excited to announce their second annual “Lorain Blooms” Beautification Project along side partners: Lorain County Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) and City of Lorain. Based on positive reviews from visitors, shoppers and downtown businesses, MSL is dedicated to continuing and expanding the beautification project.

To accomplish this goal, the “2021 Campaign for Sponsorships” is underway and will continue through May. Sponsorship funds will help defray the costs for the flowers and plants, existing twelve self-watering pots on Broadway, related maintenance, and additional seasonal displays throughout the year. Businesses, organizations, individuals, and supporters of Downtown Lorain are encouraged to consider a sponsorship of any amount. Sponsors who donate $150 or more will have their name placed on a “Lorain Blooms” Beautification Project plaque within one of the 12 pots. All sponsorships are tax deductible.

Planting will take place on Saturday, May 29, 2021under the direction of Main Street Lorain& Zelek Flower Shop.

This project supports the continuing revitalization efforts and aligns with the MSL Community Transformation Strategy for making Downtown Lorain an inviting place to live, work, and visit. The project further supports the mission of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) through public outreach to advance the opportunities and the quality of life for African American women, their families, and communities.Sponsorship checks and money should be forwarded to Lorain Historical Society, 329 West 10th Street, Lorain, OH 44052.
